Are you looking for a new and exciting job role? We have a great opportunity for you to join our outpatients team in Newton Abbot Hospital


This is an opportunity to work in the out-patients clinics - under mínimal supervision supporting and assisting Consultants and other professional medical staff.

To also support the nursing team in the areas stated below to provide a high standard of individual patient care.


Clinical:

The post holder will be responsible for setting up and running of various out-patient clinics (The RN will have the ultimate responsibility).


The post holder will:


  • Liaise with reception, Administration, Portering and other departmental staff
  • Support Consultants and other medical staff and directed by Consultant/RN
  • Support, advise and treat patients as required (under the supervision of the qualified nurse, within professional competency/boundaries)
  • Ensure a high standard of patients care is maintained in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to patients, their relatives and/ or carers.
- work as part of the hospital nursing team which focuses on the direct need of service users in the hospital care setting

  • To participate in the delivery of care needs and assist in the implementation of planned programmes of care working under the supervision of the registered nursing staff within the team.

  • Ensure good communication with Medical and Nursing colleagues.
  • Liaise with other Healthcare professionals, where necessary.
  • An awareness of own professional competence/limitations and relevance of referrals to RN/Consultant.
  • Liaise with Facilities Services, Admin Staff, Pharmacy and suppliers on general matters concerning outpatients department...
  • May need to give/receive complex/sensitive contentious information to patients/carers and medical staff.
  • Communicating and building relationships with clients, families and professional partners to support effective patient care.
  • Act at all times in a manner which illustrates respect for privacy dignity and confidentiality.
