POLITICAL DATA SCIENTIST

LONDON

Harnham is working exclusively with a growing Market Research agency focusing on Political and Social issues, in an exciting Data Scientist role.

THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Data Scientist's role will be diverse and engaging, providing plenty of opportunities for learning and growth. The responsibilities will include the likes of:

• Constructing and implementing Multivariate Regression (and other) models to assist our clients in comprehending potential election outcomes.
• Comprehend the spectrum of our client's challenges and innovatively craft technical solutions to address them.
• Oversee data pipelines, devise quantitative inputs for models, ensure data integrity, and design post-stratification frameworks.
• Extract insights from data, creatively explore both public and private datasets to uncover novel perspectives on client issues.
• Visualize results and elucidate their significance to clients, prospects, and broader stakeholders.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

The ideal Data Scientist will have the following skills and experience:

• Proficiency in R and Python.
• Familiarity with Bayesian statistics.
• Understanding of the fundamental principles behind MRP, with preferred hands-on experience in constructing and executing multilevel regression.
• Interest and comprehension of data pipelines and architectural concepts.
• Interest and understanding of political science and electoral dynamics.
• A unique cognitive approach; we aim to enhance the cognitive diversity of our team with each new addition.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal skills, and a dedicated client service ethos.
• A passion for politics and public opinion research.
