Job Title
  • Service Scheduler


Location - Portland

Salary £27,000 - £35,000

Responsible for:
Organising and managing a team of engineers to deliver the servicing schedule for M&N customers.

This complex schedule involves the organisation of resources (people, vehicles and materials) in order to provide a comprehensive, cost effective and efficient plan to meet the demands of the customer.

This is a demanding role that requires coordination, planning and attention to detail.


Physical & Other Requirements:


  • Current valid driving license.
  • Able to visit waste water sites to scope work and report.
  • Able to carry out work tasks that involve physical strength, stamina, standing, kneeling or crouching.
  • Occasional overnight stays may be required.

Competency & Qualifications:


  • Engineering qualified to Degree/HND or equivalent or qualified by experience.
  • Project management trained: desired.
  • PPM/Service management trained desired.
  • Knowledge of Industrial mechanical installation and maintenance.
  • Understanding of wastewater screens and the systems and processes within which they work: desired.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and that of others whilst working in a systematic and organised manner to complete work within set deadlines.
  • Competent in the use of computers and common micorosoft office tools. ECDL preferred.
  • Ability to formulate risk assessments and method statements. To provide a safety system of work.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Key Duties

  • Planning and coordination of resources to meet the schedule, whilst ensuring efficiency and best value for money.
  • Line manager for a team of Service Engineers.
  • Organise materials for the teams in accordance with the needs of the PPM and ensure that are readily available prior to deployment of teams.
  • Plan, assess and deliver any reactive maintenance works with available resources when needed.
  • Proactively action and followthrough on changes / amendments to planning schedule through to work commencement.
  • Monitor site work progress using online systems and ensure that resource / time changes are recorded.
  • Produce all required paperwork for safety and site access, including RAM's, site entry permits and organise site access with respective customer/ site managers.
  • Maintain records of servicing and produce reports on request.
  • Draw to attention of the Service Manager any issues that will impair the effective delivery of the Schedule/PPM.
  • Coordinate and process the Service Reports received from the teams.
  • Produce work orders and Purchase Orders (PO's) as required.
  • Manage any complaints or enquiries from customers.
  • Prepare RAM's set and site enters permits and communicate with respective managers.
  • Maximise sales opportunities by offering innovative solutions to customers and encouraging all personnel to do the same.
  • To be consultative, problem solving and offer a solution orientated approach leading to excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that all the Company policies and procedures for ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 are complied with and that regulations on health and safety are adhered to in order to maintain a safe working environment. This will include any customer's specific regulations.
