The Money Advice Team is a welfare and benefits team that sees approximately people a month identifying financial support, grants and discounts and dealing with debt. The Team is expanding due to the demand and the essential need of people visiting the + locations a week that the team are committed to attending.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed individual with excellent customer service skills and a high standard of knowledge on Welfare Benefits amongst other things, to deliver Money Advice. They will also be required to assist new starters and support with the progress and expansion of the Money Advice Team. The successful candidate will provide advice on Welfare Benefits, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction as well Grants and Discounts and schemes and projects run by Cardiff Council. These services are to be delivered in person, telephone, web chat or in writing.

The successful candidate will have a high standard of knowledge of the topics involved in Money Advice support, namely;

Welfare Benefits and Income Maximisation

Council Tax and Council Tax Reduction

Disability Benefits and appeals

Grants, Discounts, Cost of Living Support and schemes associated with the support of those on low/irregular income

Referrals and signposting

The successful candidate will also be able to support new starters as well as offering experience of good customer service in a benefit related environment.
