The role

Reporting to the Head of Innovation and Transformation the Innovation and Transformation Partner is responsible for the design and development of legally compliant policies, practices, toolsets, and processes to ensure a healthy, progressive and sustainable working environment.


The role supports in shaping the people strategy by designing unrivalled, creative and pioneering people initiatives, using insight, data, best practice and future trends.

Delivery of these initiatives will take place across the wider people team. The role will be responsible for delivering and embedding the initiatives with the wider regional Business Partnering Team.

The role will also support the effective communication of new ways of workings and solutions across the organisation.


The role will be field based and hybrid, to likely include 2-3 days regional, sometimes national as required by the business. Therefore flexibility around travel and a full UK Cat B drivers license would be essential for this role.

Key accountabilities

  • Support the development an unrivalled employee value proposition to attract and retain the best talent and to meet strategic ambitions.
  • Develop pioneering people initiatives, in line with the people strategy, across the whole employee life cycle to create a healthy, sustainable, collaborative, and progressive working environment, including:
  • People practices relating to organisational design, acquisition, TUPE, closedown etc.
  • Performance and talent strategies and tools evolving the performance conversations, reward and recognition, promotions process, talent, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Moderation & calibration processes for key people scenarios (such as performance conversations, promotions, reward, talent management etc).
  • Diversity and inclusion strategy to develop diverse and inclusive thinking.
  • Engagement survey, analysing and use data and insights to feed into the people strategy.
  • Support the effective communication of new ways of workings and solutions across the organisation.
  • Support the Regional Business Partnering Team with the roll out and delivery of people initiatives.
  • Partner with the wider People Team to deliver a seamless and unrivalled employee experience.
  • Develop the business case and return on investment for all new people initiatives.
  • Act as an ambassador for the People Team and ETEL's company values and behaviours at all times.

Skills & experience

  • Comfortable with travel across the UK, full UK Cat B drivers license essential.
  • Extensive experience in a HR role.

  • Ideally professionally qualified and/or with experience gained in a People/HR related environment in a similarly scaled organisation.
