Position Summary:

esponsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Scruffy Dog Birmingham production facilities which includes its equipment, consumable materials, waste, appearance, access, facilities and utilities, (gas),


Also responsible for implementation and compliance of systems and procedures (including Health & Safety, ISO standards) on the workshop floor.


Organisational Relationship:

This position will report to the Facility and Asset Manager.


Accountabilities:


  • Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly Facilities managers are responsible for keeping buildings properly maintained, clean and safe. The role combines management tasks such as supervising contractors and more strategic responsibilities such as managing budgets and advising on longterm energy efficiency
  • Responsible for the development, performance and delivery of all manufacturing facilities to the organisation to produce an efficient service and delivery solution, maximising performance
  • Waste management including skip, chemical waste and recyclable waste.
  • Keeping detailed logs and records of all process relevant documents for example machine servicing records, tool hand out records, waste transfer notes, LEV testing etc.
  • Safety testing and maintenance / logging of all assets, plant and machinery.

This is comprising but not exclusively:

LEV testing of all extraction systems and spray booths, Air fed masks, PAT, Polyurea coating, 3; 5 and 7 axis CNC, Panel saw, Band saw, Planer, Grinding wheel, Belt sander (stationary), Cylinder sander, Cut off saws for wood, Cut off saw for metal, Pillar drill.

CCTV. Ladders and access equipment. Vans / MOT, windscreen wipers, tire pressure, lights, brakes, cleanliness. Forklift, battery fluid, greasing, charging. Portable power tools. Portable appliances in the workshops (such as heaters).

  • Health & safety and the safe operation within facilities and assets
  • Responsible for vehicles and equipment, insurances etc.
  • Obtain costs and prepare annual facilities & maintenance budgets. Price up facilities development projects
  • Utilities management comprising: Gas bottle level monitoring, requesting gas replacements, consulting with utilities suppliers in case of issues, organising servicing as required, dealing with electrical works.
  • Preparing for Landlord inspections, dealing with landlord issues.
  • Preparing for insurance inspections.
  • Preparing for client visits and inspections.
  • Preparing for internal audits and inspections.
- (Limited) Stock level management. Hand out tools and materials, log in and out, monitor reasonable usage, maintain sundries cabinets in each skill area (carpentry, metalwork etc.) and develop standard sundries requirements specific to each department.

  • Manage incoming goods and deliveries. Allocating incoming goods following procedures.
  • Delegate basic tasks to maintenance support workers and scheduling their day to day to do list. Monitoring and measuring performance.
  • Provide material and equipment from the storeroom to crew while monitoring usage and taking records.
  • Organise blade sharpening services, spray booth filters, CNC tools and generally delivering everything to ensure fully functioning plant and equipment in coordination with the Production Department.
  • Refits and facilities development
  • Managing contractors and external services
  • Infrastructure maintenance
  • Taking care that walk ways, access, egress and fire escape routes being kept clear at all times.
  • Following the company's Health & Safety policy.
  • Following the companies ISO 9001 and 14001 procedures.

Key Skills / Experience Required

Educational Qualification

  • BS degree in logistics / Engineering (preferred)
  • NVQ-Plumbing /Electrical / Mechanical & Carpentry

Additional Qualifications / certifications

  • Good knowledge of MS Office, Excel.
  • A full UK car driving licence
  • Forklift Licence (preferred)

Prior experience

  • Provin expérience as a Building Maintenance Operative.
  • An understanding and prior experience of Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Hands on experience with Plumbing, Drainage, Electrical & Carpentry work.
  • An ability to promptly deal with routine tasks
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment with various machinery.

Salary:
£23,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
