Description

Hybrid working with a requirement to attend the office in Kendal a minimum of 4 days per month.

Fixed Term Contract - Up to 2 years

Closing date: 9am on Monday 27th March 2023.


We're currently recruiting for a Head of Assets to join our team to provide management and leadership to the Assets; Sustainability; and Surveying Teams in the delivery of all strategies, policies, and best practices.


You will be accountable for all matters relating to Decent Homes compliance; long term financial planning; annual budget management; asset viability assessments; customer satisfaction with asset management, sustainability and surveying activities, and will be responsible for reporting such compliance to the Executive Management Team and Board.


Within this role you will also

  • Accountable for the quality of asset data held within our asset management system, ensuring the data is regularly updated and maintained to provide good quality, robust business intelligence.
  • You'll undertake building safety checks and ensuring that all risks arising are actioned, tracked and completed within specified timescales.
  • You'll determine and issue programmes of work to achieve legislative and corporate plan requirements for sustainability in our approach to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and will identify and maximise grant funding opportunities.
  • Analyse and report the longterm financial sustainability of our homes and assets through our sustainability model.
  • Accountable for effective consultation and liaison with external partners and stakeholders when undertaking complex improvement/regeneration projects.
  • Effectively liaise and communicate with customers and colleagues about assets and building safety operations.
  • You'll hold a Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) qualification or other relevant construction related qualification.
  • Experience in a similar role with knowledge of health and safety; fire safety; asbestos.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Teams.
  • Ability to coach and develop team members to achieve their potential whilst managing and motivating colleagues to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of legislative requirements for Asset Management and Building Safety.
  • Results driven with strong analytical skills and the ability to critically analyse complex information.
