As a Barclays Software Engineer, within the Developer Platform Team, you will be involved in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. What will you be doing?

Working closely with your colleagues to create a high functioning development team

You will work with UX to turn high-fidelity mock-ups into interactive UI's using modern UI frameworks like React

Deploying software components in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, OpenShift and Kubernetes

Delivering API's using OpenAPI specification for cross team consumption

Configuring and running CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and source control using Git

Participating in peer reviews to drive standards

Collaborating with colleagues across CTO to deliver world class applications

Working in an Agile software development environment

What we're looking for:

Experience with one or more programming language; Java, .NET or Python

Solid experience creating user friendly interactive UI's with modern front-end technologies; React/Angular/Typescript

Experience working with UX designers to translate high fidelity wireframes into UI's

Experience using CI/CD to create an efficient, risk-averse, deploy and release pipeline

Skills that will help you in the role:

Knowledge using Git for source control management

Experience of a CI/CD platform; GitLab, Jenkins, Team City

Experience working with container development, preferable for AWS ECS
