The ShareAction Financial Sector Research team focuses on holding financial institutions accountable for their impact on critical issues like climate change and human rights.

As part of this team, you'll play a vital role in overseeing how asset management companies address environmental and social concerns during company meetings. These actions are crucial given the extensive influence of the asset management sector over global corporations.


Key responsibilities within this role include:

  • Contributing to financial sector benchmarks for asset managers, banks, and insurance companies
  • Participating in our annual report on the voting practices of leading asset managers globally
  • Collaborating with civil society groups to amplify our collective influence
  • Engaging with relevant organizations and providing tailored improvement suggestions
  • Sharing research findings through blogs and webinars

Position Summary:

As one of eight researchers, you'll play a significant role in producing ShareAction's key reports on financial institution rankings. This involves data collection, analysis, creating visual representations, and offering actionable recommendations to financial entities.

You'll work closely with various teams at ShareAction and engage in discussions with financial institutions, NGOs, and regulators to discuss your findings.

We will provide you with the necessary support and guidance to excel in this challenging research position, as we embark on our latest benchmarking projects in the asset management sector. We are seeking an individual with strong research and communication skills, as well as a drive to enact positive change.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Analysis of quantitative and qualitative data on asset managers' voting behaviors
  • Utilizing Excel and Python to manage and analyze large datasets
  • Presenting research findings to internal and external stakeholders through various channels
  • Establishing and nurturing relationships with financial institutions and civil society groups
  • Autonomously managing work tasks, leading groups, and overseeing project impact
  • Assisting the wider Financial Sector Research team on complex research projects
