Retail comprises of Consumer Relationships (including Mass Affluent) and Consumer Lending businesses.

    Our businesses are amidst an exciting and important period of change as Retail undertakes a significant level of strategic investment as part of the Group's multi-year transformation. Alongside the increased use of data, this will enable the business to deepen existing customer & colleague relationships and broaden its intermediary offering, in turn improving operational efficiency and delivering increasingly tailored customer propositions.

    The role is responsible for the leadership and management of a team of c.80 finance professionals, focusing on the provision of decision support MI, planning, reporting and analytics for Retail, providing business insight through reporting to Group teams and the Group Executive Committee (GEC), alongside external reporting.

    You'll be the lead on consolidating the financials and provision of information to the Retail leadership team and GEC. Furthermore, this role will provide analysis to support pricing and commercial decision-making, analysis requests and liaison with LBG's treasury function. You'll work alongside the finance business partners and centres of excellence to produce high quality insight into the key drivers of performance, supporting decision making and driving strategic execution across the businesses.

    Key skills & Capabilities

  • Partnering the Retail CFO, ensuring they are constantly briefed on performance and co-ordinating the delivery of key objectives across the division and being a key member of the leadership team.
  • Building trusted advisor relationships with business and Finance leads, acting as a key internal advisor by advising operational and financial planning, performance management and execution
  • Building and leading a successful team, establishing a clear common purpose, and committing to an outstanding service offering to all customers
  • Driving a suitable change agenda to transform the efficiency of the Product Analytics team, including inputting to the Finance Transformation programme, using expertise in analysis and MI development.
  • Understanding the CR and CL products, including their manufacture, distribution, and risk management
  • Qualified accountant, ACA/CIMA or equivalent, with consistent track record as a finance director within a highly regulated industry
  • Knowledge of finance procedures, processes, standard methodology, and competitor behaviour (where relevant) with the ability to develop our team to deliver quality finance services.
  • Good knowledge of financial services and implications of product pricing/structuring for accounting recognition
  • Ability to influence and align colleagues to make things happen and build trusting and collaborative relationships across the Group.
  • Manages ambiguity well and can see things in an innovative way and be able to clearly communicate ideas, proposals, implications.
  • Can balance short term and longer-term goals and build simplicity out of complexity to set a clear overall direction and willing and able to make high reaching but reasoned commercial calls.
