Description

We are looking for a Hydraulic Systems Engineer to work with a Major Manufacturing company in the UK with worldwide coverage.


The company are based in Leicester and offering a 12 months renewable contract for an Engineer to join the Hydraulic System Team, who support of the development of systems.

The mission of the team of 6-7 in the UK, is to provide value to our global customersboth internally and externally by helping design, develop, understand, optimise, test, validate, and support hydraulic systems.


This role could suite someone outside of the industry who can transfer their hydraulic and control systems knowledge into the Off-highways construction vehicle market.

As an engineer in the hydraulic systems team, you will be responsible for hydraulic development and maintenance.

You will develop and validate the hydraulic system through machine testing, tuning, and performance evaluation of the hydraulic system in themachine.

You will assist in solving technical problems while growing your analytical skills and mastery of engineering concepts. You will also continue to grow your professional network.

Role Responsibilities

  • Hydraulic System schematic creation
  • Test and develop changes to hydraulic systems and component solutions
  • Research and explore new technology
  • Develop original or innovative approaches to engineering design, cost reduction, and problem solving.
  • Promote quality and continuous improvement philosophy
  • Researching and exploring new technology
  • Deepen your knowledge base of Caterpillar products, technologies, processes, services, and systems
  • Organize and prioritize work assignments to complete assignments/tasks on time.

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of 3D modeling software, ideally ProE/Creo
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Emphasis on initiative and selfstarting tasks

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum. If you have Hydraulic systems knowledge but have not studied, indepth knowledge would also be considered.
  • Relevant hydraulic engineering work experience
  • Basic knowledge of testing and data acquisition tools
  • Basic knowledge of simulation and analysis of hydraulic systems
  • Basic knowledge in machine operation
This role is vacant and available for immediate start. This is a hands on and technical role, development of new technology. With a particular current project being the engineering development supporting hydraulic systems on electric vehicles.


Working out of the facility in Desford Leicestershire, on a 8-5 Monday to Friday basis with flexibility in start and finish times.

The contract will be 12 month rolling, with long term development and opportunity to transfer to permanent.

This role is insideIR35 and will be PAYE with the being £22.50 to £26.50 per hour will be negotiable dependent on experience.
