    Our Opportunity

    We are looking for an experienced Project/Programme Manager to join a growing Above Water Systems business, to be based in both Crawley and Gdynia, Poland.

    The PMO is an Integrated Programme Team (IPT) involving all the key stakeholder companies involved in the programme. Thales will support this construct through the provision of a team of 'customer friend' roles, to act as part of, and in the interests of, the customer. As PMO Project Manager, you will act as Design Authority during the design and build phase of the project, you will be responsible for the co-ordination of the programme's projects and management of the interdependencies, including oversight of any risks and issues that may arise. You will also coordinate the Polish capabilities to the ICS to enable assured system delivery and acceptance.

    Day to day you will:

    • Act as Delegated Design Authority; responsibility for the ICS design in accordance with the Design Authority (DA) principles. As the project develops it will be the responsibility of the Design Authority to ensure that the design achieves the agreed technical requirements, meets all relevant health, safety and environmental standards and As Low as Reasonably Practicable principles and that technical risks are managed to tolerable levels.
    • Be the lead technical interface with the Customer, ensuring solution compliance with Product Policy, production/services strategies, contractual requirements (including offsets) and applicable legislation & regulations.
    • Check that the Engineering Environment (process, practices and tools) for the Solution is consistent with Country/Company requirements, and overall Solution cost, technical risks & schedule.
    • Review and report on, together with the Engineering Manager, the technical risks and opportunities and the related mitigation plans throughout the bid or project.
    • Participate as part of the combat system integration working group.
    • Approve the main ICS engineering reviews and deliverables.
    • Organize technical meetings and peer reviews together with the Architect and the Engineering Manager and other stakeholders in order to perform the solution technical assessment and validation.

    About you

    You will be a proven leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Your stakeholder management skills will be critical as you navigate relationships across cultural boundaries to efficiently deliver to both the business and our customers. A demonstrable record of on budget and on time delivery will be desirable, alongside seasoned experience of large Project delivery. You will need experience in Contract Management within complex Maritime Integration Programmes in a military customer environment and in depth knowledge of best practise within Project controls.
