    Client: Scottish Power

    The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the Data Technicians and Technical Support resources to deliver high quality, consistent and repeatable Desktop Investigation, Data Analysis and Data Correction to Scottish Power Energy Networks Asset Data. This will involve setting and managing to time and quality various tasks which are required to effectively deliver workstreams assigned, ensuring working is carried out to defined project parameters. This will be undertaken as part of the Network Data Improvement Programme (NDIP).

    Job Responsibilities

    · Analyzing data provided from SPEN using statistical techniques & providing reports & insights as requested.

    · Acquiring data from primary and secondary sources and maintain data systems. Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets.

    · Working alongside Team leader to successfully plan & execute all NDIP workstreams.

    · Monthly departmental reporting.

    Key skills for the role are:

    · Proficiency with GIS software – ideally ArcMap 10.x and ArcGIS Pro

    · Experience of working with data from asset management systems, ideally SAP

    · Experience with database programming languages such as SQL, R or Python

    · Proficiency with MS Access, MS Excel

    · Experience in working with large datasets and in analysing data quality

    · Analytical mindset.

    · Ability to quickly learn new software applications

    · Decisive, able to quickly recommend changes

    · Flexible and adaptable to change

    · Good communication skills including the ability to provide feedback and escalate issues

    Desirables for the role are:


    • Qualification in a GIS related field or significant experience in working with GIS software and data

    Utilities (Gas, Water, Electrical) knowledge


    • Excellent written and verbal communication.


    • Good interpersonal skills.
