The Role:
Support the Parts Supervisor in all aspects of the parts department. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to obtain parts for specific jobs / suppliers /customers.
Remuneration & Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week with 30minute unpaid break
- One week in every 9 Saturday morning rota (paid as overtime)
- Core hours worked between
- 28 days holiday entitlement, including bank holidays

- Basic salary £23k

Key Responsibilities:
Main Duties
- Provide prompt and courteous counter service for personnel calling in at the stores to collect items
- To identify and understand the requirements of the technicians
- Respond to telephone calls in a prompt and courteous manner
- Issue parts to the workshop technicians, ensuring all paperwork is signed off correctly
- Ordering of parts as and when required
- Pick and pack orders ready for delivery to customers
- Updating supervisor with the pending parts status
- To promote best practice in maintaining high levels of Customer Service
- You must comply with all health and safety rules and regulations regarding the
- Report any accidents / incidents to 1st Line Manager
- You must comply with and promote all health and safety rules and regulations regarding the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
- Promote Wm. Armstrong in line with current company values, beliefs and branding.
- Undertake such other duties that are required from time to time commensurate with this position.
- Ensure all parts are logged correctly
- Check and receipt of deliveries to the parts department
- Accurately receipt parts into Stock from advice notes and Invoices. Making sure all cost and quantities are correct as and when required
- Unload delivery vehicles in a safe and timely manner
- Drive company forklift truck (dependent of licence)
- Notify suppliers of and damaged parts or missing items
- New stock to be labelled and allocated part number added
- Stock Control
- Participate in stock counts and reconcile against company inventory
- Ensure stock items have appropriate part number / bar code attached at all times
- Ensure full traceability of all stored materials / items / oils
- Ensure all items are appropriately stored for their size and weight
- Processing warranty and old core units
- Processing of workshop and customer returns
- Accurate scanning and saving of documents as required
- Highlight and reporting any anomalies or discrepancies with stock data
- General support of parts department as directed
- Previous relevant technical experience gained from working in a relevant workshop / parts department (desirable, not essential)
- Strong attention to detail (essential)
- Excellent communication skills (essential)
- Ability to work on own initiative & part of a team (essential)
- Previous experience within a parts environment (preferred)
- Strong inter personal skills (essential)
- Excellent organisational skills (essential)
- Must have a flexible approach to work (essential)
- Must be proficient in using Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, Outlook)
