    Key responsibilities for the role:

    You will have a strong engineering background and extensive knowledge of AWS or similar cloud platform. You will join the Platform Engineering team working closely with engineering managers, principal engineers and DevOps engineers to correctly identify the work required to enable engineers to self-serve as much as possible.

    The Platform Engineering team is responsible for striking the correct balance of engineering access whilst also taking into consideration security and best practices. The aim of the Platform engineering team is to increase the efficiency of the engineering teams.

    You will be an advocate for the technology choices and roadmap of Huboo and will be an active participant in architectural discussions. You will be expected to work closely with other engineering teams to support, mentor and grow.

    The successful candidate will require a deep understanding of cloud technologies, automation tools, and software development methodologies.

    Main focus areas:
    • Enable stream-aligned teams to concentrate on delivering value to the business
    • Support the ongoing design and evolution of the architecture of Huboo products
    • Coach, mentor and develop Engineers on how to successfully design and architect solutions
    • Ensure best practices are observed in coding and documentation across Huboo system applications promoting high quality software design.
    • Ensure integrity of data in databases throughout any architectural design changes
    • Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and collaborating with technical staff to recommend solutions to improve it.
    • Assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have.
    • Review security implications of architectural designs
    • Understand and seek to achieve true DevOps Culture
    • Organise and manage AWS infrastructure into appropriate accounts for segregation of responsibilities
    • Define and implement the appropriate security AWS policies, roles, groups, users
    • Enable engineering teams to build and maintain CI and CD pipelines through all environments to production.
    • Facilitate the steps of test automation, code analysis scanning and security/threat scanning as an integral part of the CI/CD pipelines
    • Implement full orchestration of containers across all environments and define the optimum Deployment strategy
    • Implement appropriate monitoring /feedback systems for applications and Cloud infrastructure
    • Continuously improve DevOps practices by identifying and adopting new technologies and processes

    • EKS or Kubernetes

    • SSO and Organisations (AWS Multi accounts)
    • Networking (VPN, VPC, Private and Public subnets, Transit gateway)
    • API Gateway
    • Terraform
    • Containerisation
    • Docker
    • Monitoring
    • Datadog
    • Hands on with POCs and new ideas to solve problems
    • Systems Architecture
    • Solution Documentation
    • Business case creation and presentation
    • Experience with either .Net, or PHP
    • Fluent in English
