About the role


Reporting to the Finance Supervisor, the primary purpose of this role is to maintain smooth and efficient accounting functions within the Finance team assisting with credit control, sales ledger admin, purchase ledger and understanding and processing transactionsin different currencies.


What you'll do in the role

  • Daily sales invoicing
  • Aged debt reporting
  • Contact customers regarding overdue balances
  • Credit checks and set up new customer accounts
  • Update customer accounts
  • Enter customer receipts in various currencies
  • Allocate receipts against correct customer accounts
  • Reconcile customer accounts and review unallocated receipts on regular basis
  • Post and allocate receipts, post sales or purchase deductions and escalate shortage claims
  • Raise weekly Direct Debit collections
  • Send out monthly statements
  • Raise credit notes
  • Import and reconcile customer credit card transactions in different currencies
  • Escalate PayPal queries
  • Assist with month end journals, company credit card reconciliations and post purchase ledger invoices

What will help you do the job well?

Essential:


  • Previous experience of working in a similar varied Accounts Assistant role
  • Accounting Skills
  • Experience of using accounting software
  • Proficient in Excel at an intermediate level
  • Strong Word and Outlook skills
  • Aptitudes, Abilities & Behaviours
  • High level of numeracy
  • Ability to multitask and reorder priorities when necessary
  • Ability to work within a team environment and support other team members when required
  • Willingness and ability to learn and develop
  • Methodical in work approach
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excitement about joining a midsize yet growing company with fastgrowing brands

Nice to have:


  • AAT qualification or similar
  • Previous experience of Sage200
  • Previous experience of transactions in various foreign currencies
