Farnborough, Hampshire (Hybrid working, 3 days remote/work from home per week)


Product Owner required by a by a fast growing secure by design cutting-edge technology company based in Farnborough, Hampshire, providing on-premise and cloud solutions into the Defence and Security sector.

The Product Owner will join my client on fast movingand influential project work which is already underway in the aforementioned Defence and Security Sector.

A few details about the role

This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished Product Owner to join a highly-skilled agile team, delivering cutting edge technology solutions for the Ministry of Defence (MOD).

Working directly with the Customer, Program Management and SME's to own and directdevelopment of the product, you will ensure everyone in the project team knows what needs to be done and why.

To be successful in this role you will manage the full product life cycle to ensure that customer/user needs are met and that financial and othertargets are achieved.

You will create the product management framework for my client, championing the importance and value of product management principles and appropriate product development models.

You will identify and understand customer needs, translate,and prioritise effectively into the backlog, working effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver.

Previous experience of working with the MoD is an advantage.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Understand and deliver customer needs/priorities
  • Incorporate feature requests into product roadmap
  • Own and manage the full product life cycle
  • Develop user stories and define acceptance criteria
  • Set sprint goals
  • Write acceptance tests
  • Plan releases and upgrades with delivery team
  • Follow progress of work and address production issues during sprints
  • Analyse preferences and requests of end users
  • Work with delivery manager to refine our methodology based on results and client feedback
  • Keep track of industry trends

What you will need

  • Work experience as a Product Owner / Product Manager or similar role is essential
  • Experience of working with the MOD advantageous
  • Handson experience managing all stages of the product life cycle
  • Strong experience of Agile / Scrum
  • Technical background with knowledge of software development and cloud technologies
  • Positive influencer of team culture and good communication
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Willing and eligibility for MoD SC Clearance
