    We are looking for a General Machinist for a 12-month contract based in Washington on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.

    Purpose of the Role:

    Vacancies have arisen for a number of General Machinist roles. The positions will report to a Production Leader and involve precision machining parts for the aerospace industry.

    As a General Machinist you will be responsible for:

    Perform Manufacturing/Operational tasks consistent with the requirements of the team, statutory and company standards (e.g. Health, Safety, Environment, Quality Management).
    Participate in process improvement activities and compliance methodologies in order to satisfy customer needs and cost reduction targets. This may include elements of factory set up and workstation design.
    Follow production plans in order to meet customer requirements.
    Participate in cost reduction/operational improvements in order to satisfy customer needs.
    Contribute to achievement of cell performance targets.

    Recognise and perform asset maintenance activities in order to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to a high performance standard.


    What we require from the candidate:


    It is a requirement of the role that you will have completed a recognised time-served apprenticeship of at least 3 years, including NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

    Experience in one or more of the following processes:

    Machining
    Balance
    De-burr
    Broach
    Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM)
    Grind
    A willingness to learn and adapt across a range of product types, processes, machines, and technologies
