Communications Officer (Full Time, 37 hours)

Grade:
Staff Officer £32,880- £34,011

The Communications Officer will support the Commissioner and NICCY office by

  • Develop and lead a wideranging Digital Media Strategy to support the Communications function and team in an everchanging digital environment.
  • Manage and develop online communication channels to support the Digital Media Strategy.
  • Manage the ongoing maintenance of the office's website, ensuring the design and content are creative, appealing, accurate, consistent, current, and meets the needs of stakeholders including children and young people in Northern Ireland.
  • Manage the production of all NICCY printed publications to include copywriting, proof reading, buying design and print, and delivering printed material to tight deadlines within budget.
  • Develop and champion NICCY's visual brand and corporate identity, ensuring corporate identity guidelines are followed by both internal and external audiences as/when appropriate.
  • Provide support to the Communications Team by providing a Press Office function as and when required.
  • Support the development of media plans, drafting and issuing responses / press releases and develop media plans when required.
  • As a member of the Corporate Services Team, work closely with the Chief Executive and Communications Staff in achieving aims & objectives, and contributing to the management reporting of Communications workstreams.
  • Engage directly with children and young people to encourage their participation in NICCY's work.

Essential Criteria:


  • Demonstrable experience in delivering on a Digital Media Strategy to maximise reach and engagement through digital channels;
  • Practical experience in the maintenance of a corporate website;
  • Experience in building effective relationships with a range of relevant stakeholders; and
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Salary:
£32,880.00-£34,011.00 per year
