Salary from £50,606 to £58,505 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £65,157 pa inclusive of London allowance

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic Microsoft cloud and Windows system administrator who is ambitious to succeed in the IT Industry and is keen to build and enhance their career around an exciting and reputable university.


This is an excellent opportunity for a personable and engaging professional, who wants to make an impact and be part of a like-minded and skilled team, to assist with delivering the organisation's shift towards more cloud-based productivity via the Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms.

If you are a Windows or Microsoft 365 system administrator with a passion for Active Directory, Entra ID, and all things Microsoft cloud, and with the ability to quickly acquire new skills, tools and technologies - we would like to hear from you

Working with the Platform Services team your will play a key role in delivering a range of computing, storage and authentication services, but will have a specific focus on:

  • Azure and Microsoft 365 platform administration, security and operation.
  • Design, deployment and operation of Azure infrastructure and platform services.
  • Automation of Microsoft 365 cloud workflows and 'shift left' of operational and support activities.
  • Operation of Active Directory and Azure Entra ID identity services including SSO federation for other systems.
  • Operation of onpremise Windows based systems and services.
  • Decommissioning of legacy Windows onpremise systems and migration to cloud hosted environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server systems administration, including system security, performance optimisation, patching, monitoring and alerting.
  • Experience of running Microsoft cloudbased services in Azure and the Microsoft 365 platform including key components such as Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint and Purview.
  • Experience of utilising Microsoft cloud elements such as Conditional Access, PIM, Intune in combination to deliver enhanced and sophisticated security options.
