Saint Pius X Catholic High School is a well-regarded and over-subscribed 11-16 school.


Applications are invited for the position of SEND Intervention Support Assistant at Saint Pius X Catholic High School to work across the age and ability range.

We are seeking to appoint an energetic and enthusiastic person to work in the Special Need Department.


The successful applicant will support SEND students across the age and ability range, and will manage a range of learning intervention, both within, and outside of the classroom, ensuring the best outcomes for those students.

The role will involve setting up a range of programmes such as Lexia and IDL and activities such as paired reading, monitoring the progress of the students concerned, and recording and reporting on their progress and achievement.

It may also involve preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals and/or groups of students. This work will be under the guidance and supervision of the SENDCo and SEND line manager.

The successful applicant will be joining the SEND team of 7.6 FTE teaching assistants, SEND administrator and 2 HLTAS.

The ability to work as an effective team member, be well organised and have the ability to communicate with young people and adults in a constructive and effective way is essential to the position.
