Redcar and Cleveland Council are seeking to recruit two Planning Officers to join the Development Management Team.

You will be responsible for your own caseload of planning applications , the provision of pre-application advice, dealing with planning appeals and when required compliance and enforcement work.

You will a member of or be working towards RTPI Membership or have a demonstrably equivalent qualification or experience.

You will be a confident candidate able to work with the minimum of supervision and be able to communicate effectively and clearly with applicants, colleagues, elected Members and on planning matters.

Redcar and Cleveland offers an area of contrasts from rural development to extensive areas of employment around the Wilton complex and the Teesworks Regeneration area.

The Development Management Team operates career grading allowing the successful candidate to progress through Senior Planning Officer to Principal Planning Officer.

Although the advert and posts are targeted to planning officer grades we would be keen to hear from those with higher levels of experience as consideration could be given to appointing at higher grades.

While the post holder will be required to spend some time in the office during a working week the Council operate a hybrid working arrangment and flexible working hours.
