£25000- £28000 dependent on experience

Dynamite recruitment is currently working in partnership with a very well-established commercial business who are based in Portsmouth.

Due to growth plans our client is now looking to recruit additional support in their legal team and to recruit a Paralegal with immediate effect.

As a Paralegal you will Support the Legal & Compliance Team across a varied workload.

You will be involved in supporting the team in the preparation and review of commercial contracts and addressing customer issues.

The role requires an organised approach to manage the legal administration and escalate queries from the business.
As a Paralegal you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Assist the Legal & Compliance Team in the allocation of queries and agreements that are received daily in the Legal & Compliance Inbox.
  • Monitor and proactively manage the business matters for the legal team.
  • With support from the Legal Counsel, advise the business on legal and compliance matters.
  • Liaise with relevant departments and other necessary parties, including customers, suppliers, and funders, to ensure legal queries are resolved in an effective manner.
  • Work with the Legal Counsel and team to develop and roll out new template agreements, policies and legal procedures and help ensure all legal processes and procedures are being followed and adhered to.
  • Provide support for the management of the lifecycle of customer & supplier contracts, including preparation, organising reviews, signature, archiving, tracking on a contract database, notifying stakeholders of key differences to standard terms, remindingstakeholders of renewal dates, dealing with contractrelated post and correspondence.
  • Lead on the creation of a new contract database and management system.
  • Assist the Finance Team with the preparation of inlife documentation of schedules, novation requests, formal extensions.
  • Ensure Legal & Compliance policies and procedures are reviewed and controlled in an efficient manner that conforms to ISO accreditations.
  • Perform new starter background checking requirements using external reference agency to ensure that staff meet necessary compliance standards.
  • Under supervision, provide general legal advice and support, including research, legislative updates, and assistance with compliance matters.
  • Build out and maintain selfserve tools, playbooks and guides for the wider business.
  • To complete all round legal documentation
  • Coordinate purchase orders and invoicing requirements within the team.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects when required, such as filing, scanning, proofreading, the rebranding of our documentation or assisting with the administration of our ISO and other certifications.
As a Paralegal you will required to have / be:

  • Previous experience as a paralegal
  • Prior experience of working with commercial contracts
  • Excellent attention to detail, and not afraid to ask questions.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fast learner, and solutions orientated.
  • Excellent administrative and Microsoft Office, intranet skills.
  • Managing workload with limited supervision and working under pressure to achieve deadlines.
  • Selfmotivated with enthusiasm to succeed and develop
  • Proactive, resilient, and resourceful, with confidence
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Understanding and communicating the legal issues to the line manager and General Counsel.

Preferable:

  • Legal qualification preferable (such as LLB, LPC, CILEx or equivalent) or significant contract management and negotiation skills.
