    THE OPPORTUNITY

    To be part of a growing team of professionals who develop new materials and design novel process systems that utilise them. A range of industries and customers urgently require these decarbonisation solutions. At Immaterial, we want to deploy novel and commercially compelling systems in these markets. As Immaterial continues to lead the charge in developing innovative solutions for carbon capture and hydrogen storage, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will lead project teams and collaborate with stakeholders, contributing to the development and deployment of technologies that have a lasting impact on the planet.

    THE CANDIDATE

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects focused on carbon capture and hydrogen storage technologies, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and stakeholder expectations.
    • Collaborate with customers, internal teams, and a diverse mix of external partners, research institutions, contractors, and suppliers to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
    • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets, and proactively identify and mitigate risks related to technology development and deployment.
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members, stakeholders, and clients, including government agencies and industry partners.
    • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project milestones and outcomes.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by capturing and sharing lessons learned, best practices, and innovations in carbon capture and energy transition technologies.

    KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

    • Proven experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects in areas of both commercially mature and developing technologies.
    • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities, with a focus on problem-solving and driving results in the context of sustainability challenges.
    • A proactive and adaptable mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment focused on innovation and impact.

    DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    • Experience in managing projects related to carbon capture, hydrogen storage, renewable energy, or energy transition technologies.
    • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools, such as Agile or PRINCE2, in the context of sustainability projects, formal qualification would be advantageous.
    • Experience of working with UK and European funding bodies would be a significant advantage.
