Allan Webb Ltd is a leading provider of Supportability Services to UK MoD and Industry; delivering engineering and training services.


We are looking for a Technical Officer to join our Codification team, the role will predominately be working from home with occasional visits to clients sites or the Allan Webb Ltd.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To confirm Item of Supply (IoS) identity, identifying True Manufacturer and Equipment Supplier identifying references.
  • To screen identifying references against UK CSIS and NSPA NATO Master Cross List systems to identify any preexisting NSNs.
  • To identify corresponding NATO Commercial & Government Entity Codes (NCAGE) to identify manufacturers and suppliers.
  • To locate or obtain source data, in compliance with Defcon 117, though manufacturer or supplier websites, catalogues, datasheets, google searches etc, to support new codification requests.
  • To submit eTasking requests though UK CSIS in accordance with UK eTasking Guide, for allocation of new NSNs, or update of existing NSNs, and introduction to appropriate UK Base Inventory System.
  • To progress items through to NSN allocation, resolving any queries raised by the UK National Codification Bureau or authorised codification contractor.
  • To perform allied duties as required by the Manager.
  • To abide by Allan Webb company policies and procedures.

NOTES
Efficient execution of the duties listed under your Job Description entails:

  • Extraction/interpretation of technical data from engineering drawings, specifications, catalogues, etc.
  • A working understanding of the NATO Supply and Classification System.
  • Ability to use AWL Computer/Software package, CSIS, NMCRL systems.
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings to suggest Approved Item Name codes (AIN) and NATO Supply Class (NSC).
We are a secure location and it is vital that confidentiality and discretion are key. You will be required to undergo security clearance for this role.
