The starting salary for this role is £41,127 per annum, based on working 36-hours per week.

Our newly redesigned workforce is integral to achieving our aims and ambitions for the future and we are looking for a Communications and Training Manager to join our team as we continue our transformation journey.


About the role


Reporting to the Head of Change Management, you will have responsibility for designing and delivering a capability and communication strategy to ensure that we deliver our exciting ambitions; the role will adopt the Surrey Pension Team culture of strongstandards and accountability in order to responsibly deliver a first-class customer experience.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Working with the Senior Leadership team and external thought partners to develop and implement a Pensions Workforce Capability strategy to ensure we retain and grow talent that will meet our current and future ambitions.
  • Using your technical learning and development expertise to ensure that learning is efficient, effective, deploying modern models of adult learning. In addition, you will keep abreast of competitor activities and industry best practice.
  • Developing and implementing effective and engaging communication campaigns for external and internal customers and stakeholders against a strategic communications plan that mobilises a variety of communication channels. Additionally ensuring consistencyof voice and brand messaging in communications harmonised with our vision and mission.
  • Developing strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders ensuring you are customer focused on delivery, including using project planning techniques to deliver projects on time and to budget.
To be
considered for interview, you will
clearly evidence:

  • Experience in devising and implementing an inspiring Work Force Capability strategy
  • Experience in creating and delivering focused, engaging, customer centric communication plans


Your ability to demonstrate our Vision and Mission and work within a "one pensions team" culture is also crucial to our success.


Taking a holistic approach to the Pensions Team will drive opportunities for all staff to increase their career opportunities by broadening experience across the whole of the Pension service.

To be eligible for the role you must be able to prove right to work in the UK.


The role is
hybrid - a mix of remote working as well as office working at our Dakota, Weybridge, Surrey offices as required.
