We are currently on the lookout for a

Project Supervisor to join our Facility Service team in the

The Role
Pre-Construction

  • Project supervisors work with the approved contractor to create a scope of work
  • Provide the Project's team with any required Pre-Construction information.
  • Liaise with our supply chain to confirm the arrangements for the Construction Phase, identifying gaps and resource requirements to support.
  • Comment on proposed Methods for the delivery based on local knowledge of the Premises. In particular Welfare arrangements, Deliveries, and Storage.
  • Gather local contacts (both internally, and 3rd parties) to prepare Communications List to be utilised on individual Projects.
  • Have in depth knowledge of the proposed works which address the client need prior to works commencing in order to comply with CDM 2015 regulations and ensure full control and management of the project from inception to completion.
Finance

  • Support the project's team in the preparation of pricing individual projects/packages of work, to ensure sufficient information populated into Contractor Proposal documents.
  • Ensuring supply chain provide relevant detailed information in a timely fashion.
  • Gathering relevant information from any site visit to support Proposals.
Construction Phase

  • Undertake initial Inductions, and inspection of site setup prior to works progressing. Including but not restricted to Welfare, Security, Storage, Access.
  • Ensuring any Temporary Works (generally scaffolding) are completed in adherence with the required legal or technical standard/approved design.
  • Liaise with Subcontract Supervisors/Foremen to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place and maintained throughout the Project Delivery.
  • Ensure any devolved Processes are being managed correctly by Subcontract Supervisors.
  • Consult and engage with workers about their health, safety and welfare and deliver Toolbox Talks to all site operatives.
  • Attend regular site meeting with Client and 3rd Party stakeholders (e.g., Local Authority), and actively take part in discussions.
  • Ensure Health and Safety procedures and practices are maintained on all Projects and at all times ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the Company Procedures.
  • Ensure the scope of works is being adhered to, all works are being carried out to programme and are of the required quality. Weekly reports will be generated and submitted to the Project's team.
  • On occasion Full Time Supervision may be required. This will be for one off 'high risk activities' e.g., crane lift, and may also be required where deemed appropriate.
Practical Completion

  • All relevant documentation
  • O&M's, guarantees etc to be provided to the project administrator in order to be uploaded onto the system.
  • Undertake final inspection to identify snagging, arrange for any remedial works required to be carried out in a timely manner and to ensure site is left clean and tidy upon completion. Project supervisor will sign off when they are happy all items of work have been undertaken and are to a good standard.
  • Engage with localised stakeholders to ensure projects have been completed to their satisfaction and no issues are outstanding.

What we are looking for

  • Previous experience working on live construction sites and capable of working with mínimal supervision
  • Experience of interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience in subcontractor and people management
  • Experience collating, producing and managing Construction phase information
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Be happy and willing to travel to sites in the UK when required
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office package
  • Excellent decision maker with good problem solving skills
  • Good understanding of First Aid at Work
  • Hold a valid SSTS card or SMSTS qualification

It would be great if you have

  • Experience of producing construction phase plans
  • Hold a valid CSCS card
  • Hold a current First Aid Qualification
  • IPAF and PASMA certification
