Position Overview We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Research Technician to join our Protein Science Group. You will take ownership of protein expression and preparation of samples for Mass Spectrometry. We are offering this role on a full time, permanent basis.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Supporting the Protein Reagent Team in recombinant protein expression in insect cells
Samples preparation for mass spectrometry cells
Delivery of protein science technical support in accordance with Health and Safety and GLS requirements
To ensure accurate recording of results and methodologies and effectively communicate to other members of the team, project, section and department

Experience Required:

Educated to degree level in biochemistry (or similar) with at least 1 year's laboratory experience
Practical experience and theoretical understanding of protein expression in Insect cells, sterile cell culture technique, protein QC methods
Ability to work on own initiative, dedicated individual without necessity of constant supervising
Confident, and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel with experience of using databases, analytical packages and presenting data using standard techniques e.g., PowerPoint, spreadsheets, computerised reports etc.
