Teaching Assistant

Full time - 37 hours per week, 40 weeks worked (Term time plus 4 weeks)

Permanent

Roles based across all of our college sites (Rotherham College, Dearne Valley College and North Notts College)

We are looking for a number of Teaching Assistant's to work across a range of curriculum areas, and across any of our college sites.

In this rewarding role, you will support the planning and delivery of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment for young people, including those with EHC plans, both in and out of the classroom.

As a Teaching Assistant you will share a strong belief in young people's ability to achieve their work and personal goals.

You will assist learners to engage in teaching activities and shared active learning using digital platforms/Google classroom and assistive technology.

You will create and maintain a purposeful and supportive teaching environment, in accordance with lesson/curriculum teaching plans. You will use strategies, in liaison with the teacher/tutor, to support young people to achieve learning goals.

You will provide teaching that builds from easier to more difficult tasks and breaks down harder skills into smaller parts, to support learners to develop their independence, life and powerful work skills.

You will assist with the planning and preparation of learning activities.

You will need to hold or be working towards your Maths and English L2/C grade to be considered for this role.

You will need to hold or be willing to work towards level 2 or level 3 supporting teaching and learning qualification.

The role of Teaching Assistant will be based at either Rotherham College, Dearne Valley College or North Notts College campus and must be able to travel to any of these sites based upon business need.
