    Azure Platform Engineer

    Salary: National ranging from £51,200- £78,700and London from £56,400 - £86,600

    The team/department

    End User Compute provides change and run for a broad range of application and infrastructure services. We work in small cross functional, self-organising and autonomous teams, passionate about delivering value and having fun.

    What you will be doing (the role)

  • Developing, deploying, and managing cloud resources, containers, and services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Automation of infrastructure deployments using tools such as Terraform
  • Developing continuous integration, development, and deployment pipelines
  • Analysing designs to determine engineering requirements and activities. Conducting technical assessments and PoCs. Authoring and reviewing high-quality technical documentation
  • Providing technical guidance to development and infrastructure teams on engineering best practice. Contributing to technology strategy within areas of expertise
  • Monitoring cloud infrastructure for performance bottlenecks and proactively optimizing usage
  • Accelerating cloud adoption by building modular, repeatable stacks and implementing structured environments

    The skills and experience you will have

    Minimum

    We are a signatory to the Government's Disability Confident scheme. This means that we will offer an interview to disabled candidates entering under the scheme, should they meet the minimum criteria for a role.

  • Experience working as part of a team and being a subject matter expert in Azure platforms, services, and engineering
  • Strong Azure cloud engineering experience with cloud-native services
  • Strong experience in designing, engineering, and maintaining cloud-based solutions in Azure
  • Essential

  • Service proficiency in Azure IAM, VMs, Storage, Networking, Azure Functions, AKS, Security Centre, and Azure SQL. Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, PowerShell, and Azure CLI
  • Strong understanding of cloud engineering best practices including FinOps practices. Knowledge of cloud security best practices and experience engineering security controls in Azure
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or other similar CI/CD tools
  • Variety of Azure certifications to demonstrate in-depth expertise to support hands on experience
