Description
The Kent Interventional Radiology Centre, a purpose-built unit opened in May at the Kent and Canterbury site.

It has been fitted with the latest Siemens Artis Pheno angiography system with robotic assistance, full anaesthetic facilities and a dedicated 6-bedded Day Case Unit.

The unit will support the planned regional reconfiguration of Vascular services. We are a busy regional centre offering a wide range of Vascular Intervention including EVAR and FEVAR.


The new unit will run alongside the hybrid Endovascular Theatre which is being fully refurbished and updated with a Siemens Artis system.

The Trust plans to open a third imaging suite, fitted with a Siemens Icono unit, by April 2023 in order to support the delivery of the regional Stroke Thrombectomy service.


The Radiology department is a large and successful department with 5 CT scanners and 5 MRI scanners with mobile MRI and CT increasing capacity further.

The Trust has recently introduced two SPECT/CT units in Nuclear Medicine


We're passionate about teaching, so you'll play your part in teaching the next generation of doctors, nurses and other clinical staff.

We'll ask you to help recruit junior staff and supervise their education, including their educational contracts, regular appraisal, study leave, annual leave and rotas - and make sure you keep up-to-date on educational development.

If you're a new consultant, you'll be asked to enrol on an approved educational supervisor accreditation course by our medical educational department.
