Newport City Council Childrens Services are seeking to recruit a part time social work assistant to join our Safeguarding HUB.

This is an exciting time to join Newport City Council as we expand our children's workforce to meet an increase in demand for our services.


We are a Safeguarding HUB Team dealing with complex safeguarding and welfare cases alongside Court work, from prebirth to 18 years old.

You will be working alongside Social Workers assisting them in various finance and admin tasks, and family contacts, transporting children and helping with chronologies, completing proportionate assessments and other pieces of work.

You will need to be able to work in a team, with multiagency working key, often to short timescales, within confidentiality, and be able to build good working relationships with children, young people and their families.
