Are you passionate about Sustainable Finance and Regulatory Compliance? Do you have experience in sustainability regulatory risk and compliance themes (Climate, Natural Capital, Human Rights, Corporate Governance) and familiarity with frameworks and industry initiatives on sustainability issues? Do you want to influence financial business units (Asset management, Life Insurance and Wealth Management) to improve their climate alignment and impact on society? The team: The Central Sustainability Office (CSO) Team of M&G PLC is a dedicated group who work closely with asset management, asset owner, corporate sustainability teams and fundamental analysts across the M&G PLC group and is responsible for global activities of the group. The team is located in London. Context for the role: The Sustainability Data Analyst will support the CSO in collating sustainability data across the Group to track and report progress against M&G's sustainability commitments and targets. This role supports data management and reporting for the CSO, including internal and external reporting, and reports to the Head of Sustainability Strategy. Key accountabilities for this role: Working with internal team members across M&G group to collate and consolidate data on material sustainability themes Inputting data into spreadsheet tools for internal reporting and to support annual external reporting Analyzing data to provide key trends and insights in clear and succinct reports Establish clear internal processes to enable accountability and ownership of data reporting Ensuring correct metrics to measure against commitments and targets, and tracking progress against these commitments and targets Ensuring the business can make informed decisions using data to drive positive sustainable outcomes Report on and provide progress updates for internal and external purposes (for Governance for Board and ESC reporting; for Comms & Reporting for external communications) Key knowledge, skills and experience: Knowledge: Strong knowledge of sustainability matters in financial services and capacity to engage on environmental, social and governance topics Knowledge of life & pensions and savings & investment products, markets and competitors Working knowledge data management frameworks Knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. TCFD, UNGC, CDP etc) and sustainability metrics Experience of data management and database systems Stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate to diverse stakeholders Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and identify trends and areas of priority focus Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, statistical modelling and data visualisation Advanced excel proficiency desired Ability to effectively communicate on activities and outcomes on material ESG issues and themes Detail oriented and ability to think critically Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams Outcomes driven approach with the credibility to deal with stakeholders on contentious matters Flexible, responsive and self-starter Degree educated (academic qualification in a sustainable discipline is a plus) Experience: A minimum of 3+ years working in regulated financial services environment, with a sustainable data management background Experience in analysing sustainability data, including data management and communication to diverse stakeholders Experience of ensuring business alignment with key sustainability measurement frameworks Experience of reporting against regulatory and voluntary frameworks Experience of using data to track progress against commitments, identifying areas for improvement Work Level: Experienced Colleague Close Date: 3rd June 2024 We have a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture at M&G plc, underpinned by our policies and our employee-led networks who provide networking opportunities, advice and support for the diverse communities our colleagues represent.
