- Provide advice and guidance on employment-related matters including contractual issues, employee relations and HR related matters in accordance with HR policies
- Provide guidance and advice on disciplinary, formal resolution and research misconduct investigations, supporting Investigating Officers with the conduct and format of meetings
- Manage formal employee relations processes
- Supporting and advising the chair/panel at disciplinary, probation, research misconduct and sickness absence hearings on the appropriate level of sanction up to and including dismissal
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with both internal and external contacts, including trade unions
- Deliver workshops on a range of ER related topics
- Currently holds, or working towards CIPD qualification
- Experience of working with the Higher Education or the NHS sectors
- Proven experience of dealing with and managing employee relations cases with minimal direction
- Experience of dealing with trade unions and/or staff associations
