Hillcrest Manor is looking to recruit part or full time Healthcare Assistants to join an excellent and friendly team working nights.

This is an exciting time to join the home which has a new supportive management and nursing team in place.


The Home provides care for 43 residents and is set in a beautiful location in an area of outstanding beauty.


Role of a Health Care Assistant:

To support the delivery of care for service users at the home ensuring that all care needs are met in a timely manner with due regard to privacy, dignity, respect, and rights of each service user in the home.


Key responsibilities of a Health Care Assistant:

  • To provide personal care and support to Service Users using a person centred approach under the direction of and alongside Senior staff within the home.
  • To know and understand the care and support of the Service Users.
  • To encourage independence and maintain Service Users skills and abilities in all aspects of daily living where possible.
  • To assist Service Users getting up in the morning and going to bed at night.
  • To assist Service Users to wash, bath and shower.
  • To assist Service Users to dress and undress.
  • To assist Service Users to look after their skin, teeth, hair and nails.
  • To assist Service Users with toileting, continence management and personal hygiene.
  • To assist Service Users with their nutritional needs and cultural requirements.
  • To help maintain a safe, healthy, and pleasant environment for colleagues and Service Users.
  • To ensure the facility and all furnishings are clean and tidy at all times.
  • To carry out cleaning duties in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
  • To use manual handling equipment safely and to use correct techniques.
  • To maintain good communication and develop effective working relationships with Service Users, their family, and professional visitors.
  • To help the Service Users to maintain contact with their family and friends
  • To accompany the Service Users on trips into the community when required.
  • To act as a Key Worker for an identified Service User.
  • To report to the nurse in charge of the shift
  • To provide and monitor fluid intake and nutrition of service users
We are looking for staff who can work between 2-4 nights a week, preferably working alternate weekends.

However, this can be discussed as it is more important to us to recruit staff that match are values and ethos in care.


Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 22-44 per week


Salary:
£10.30 per hour


Schedule:

  • 12 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • SHREWSBURY, SY5 0DL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
