    Default job background
    Description

Required for September 2024 to teach KS3/4 English Language and English Literature together with English Language and/or English Literature up to KS5. Experience of teaching both subjects to KS4 is essential and experience of teaching either subject to KS5 is highly desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher to join a forward-thinking English Department. The department also leads on whole school reading as the key to success across all subjects and we ensure that students of all abilities are challenged.

We seek a highly skilled, motivated and talented teacher who is eager to inspire and challenge, someone who can encourage a love of English and reading and has a passion for learning. There is an excellent induction programme, a wealth of experience within the department and access to the latest evidence-informed CPD.

Beverley High School serves the East Riding of Yorkshire market town of Beverley and surrounding villages. We were delighted that in 2021 Ofsted saw what we see every day, fabulous young people working very effectively with our hugely dedicated and highly skilled and knowledgeable staff team.

We are proud that the regulator recognised the very many achievements of staff and pupils and particularly their acknowledgement that Beverley High School always puts the interests of pupils first, inspires a love of learning, has a culture of high ambition and enables pupils to reach their full potential. We are justifiably proud of pupils and staff and look forward to working with someone who wishes to share our vision and contribute to future successes. TLR 2b (currently £5,347) as Deputy Head of English may be available for the right candidate.

Beverley High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Enhanced DBS clearance is required for this post.
