About us:

Buckinghamshire is an ambitious, rapidly growing county, and our economy is one of the strongest in the country. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and ranks as one of the top rural areas to live in the UK and yet it is incredibly well connected
- only an hour from London on the train. The county has a rich history and heritage and is the birthplace of the international Paralympic movement.

We are looking for motivated, ambitious and inspiring people to join us on our journey.

Not only will you be an integral part of the unique and exciting transition through the unitary process, you will also be entitled to a range of different benefits to make sure you are happy both at work and at home.

About the role:

This role will include regular tracking to identify these young people, some of whom may require support to move into education, training or employment (EET) with an EHCP.

This role will take a lead on the development of SEND NEET support work in Buckinghamshire by being aware of current local, regional and national trends, issues and concerns affecting young people that impact on the delivery of services, and using this knowledge to upskill staff, promoting and modelling effective practice and providing advice and guidance to service practitioners and managers for that aspect of the family support service provision.

This role will also be responsible for developing relationships with key partners to coordinate the support offer and steer development work relating to young people with an EHCP.

The role will manage a SEND NEET Practitioner who will provide direct support to young people and their families to support their individual needs in order to move into EET.

The role will also work with partner services and organisations to develop the information and support offer for young people.

About you:

You will have:

  • Considerable experience in formulating and implementing effective interventions with young people and their families and carers, including young people who are NEET or at risk of becoming NEET with an Education Health and Care plan.
  • Knowledge and understanding of preparing for adulthood, parenting capacity, environmental factors and risk and protective factors, particularly in relation to young people.
