Health, Safety & Environment Manager - Oldham - £70,000
My Oldham based client is looking for a Health, Safety & Environment Manager on a full-time permanent basis.

This role has responsibility for the Health, Safety & Environment agenda across a site of approximately 1500 people, and has a team of 3 reporting.

You will be tasked with providing clear leadership for the development of legally compliant HSE systems, driving a culture across the site for continuous improvement, promoting a safe work environment for our employees & site visitors.

Key example accountabilities for this role are as follows: -
Responsibilities

Drive an engaged HSE culture across the site at all levels
Lead a Health and Safety team to deliver a clear agenda of prioritised activities, with focus on YOY improvements
Coordination and administration of health, safety and environmental procedures and systems
Own the KPI tracking system to be audit ready at all times with functional updates on a daily basis
Help record and investigate accident and near miss incidents, liaising with various departments and insurers as required
Identify and coordinate health and safety training requirements
Chair HSE Meetings with crossfunctional attendance to drive a 'one team' approach with proactive action tracking
Follow and assist in the evaluation of current safety systems updating them as required, and assisting in the timely implementation of new or changes to policies, procedures and practices
Keeping up to date with new and changes in legislation, that affect the business and its employees. Providing specialist advice and support to managers as required
Tracking of energy/environmental opportunities, with key lead in improvement activities

Attributes

Demonstrable background in a similar role preferably within an FMCG environment
Track record of driving a continuous improvement HS&E culture, including ability to drive change through strong leadership & behavioral programmes
NEBOSH diploma or equivalent
Environmental & Food Hygiene qualifications such as IEMA certificate etc is preferred
Strong influencing skills with the ability to manage in all directions, including external parties
