Job description
We are currently looking to recruit a Shift Team Leader to oversee manufacturing operations at the Four Ashes site.


As a Shift Team Leader, you will manage shift operations in accordance with the site's QEHS policies and statutory requirements working to meet quality and production targets.


You will report to the Production Manager and will lead the team in day-to-day operations to contribute towards the efficient and safe running of the department.


Main duties for this role include:

  • Acts as Incident Controller in the event of an incident and liaise with the emergency services (fire, police and ambulance) as and when required.
  • Assume operational control of the site outside of normal office hours.
  • Ensures team members are developed in all aspects of their jobs and records are maintained.
  • Ensures team members cover Rota is organized and WTD forms and callouts are authorized as and when required.
  • Manage team members goals and objectives as cascaded down at the beginning of the year.
  • Conduct regular reviews with operators to discuss goals and objectives throughout the year.
  • Assume control of site security outside of normal office hours.
  • Coordinate with maintenance in planning and supervision of maintenance tasks in order to ensure the plant is safely prepared for service agents.
  • To produce products in accordance with operating instructions and general guidance from Production Management.
  • Ensures team members are monitoring and controlling plant operational performance as per site KPI's.
  • Monitor the integrity of the plant and equipment of all aspects of safety and performance; instigate remedial action in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Work closely with production management to remove limitations and to develop improvements in both the team and plant.
  • Support operation of control systems, carrying out analytical work and recording of data in accordance with operating standards and procedures.
  • Improve safety standards by conducting site audits.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of plant and equipment areas by undertaking housekeeping audits and supervising plant cleaning duties.
  • Computer literate (standard Microsoft Packages)
  • Ability to lead a team and communicate goals, tasks and other organisational needs.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Health and Safety procedures, permit to work systems and site housekeeping standards.
  • Manufacturing operational experience and exposure to shift patterns.
  • Ability to follow procedures, comply with EHS Standards and take ownership of plant and equipment.
  • Demonstratable experience of good interpersonal skills.
Shift Pattern: 6 days on 4 days off
Morning Shift X2, Afternoon Shift X2, Night Shift X2

Salary is pensionable, including shift allowance & banked overtime pay.

Salary increase once fully compitent in the role.
