Job overview:

These are substantially research posts.

They also include a clinical Neurosurgical commitment with participation in the Neurosurgical Registrar on-call rota covering Neurosurgery at Salford Royal Hospital.


Applicants will have completed Foundation training and have some experience of neurosurgical practice at Core Surgical or ST1/2 level such that they can function as a junior registrar on call (ST3).


Main duties of the job:


The post holder will be expected to make a clear contribution to the smooth running of the department and thereby develop their experience as a Neurosurgical Registrar.


It is envisaged as a post appropriate for someone who wishes to pursue a career in neurosurgery, in the UK or abroad, and who, as part of their training wishes to spend some time developing some experience of research.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years experience as a neurosurgery registrar

Desirable criteria:


  • Career aim to be a Neurosurgery Consultant

  • Previous experience in basic science or clinical research
