Our client, a leading industry provider of precision engineered components are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to be a part of their dedicated team in Burnley.
As a Skilled CNC Machinist, you will play a vital role in our Machine Shop department manufacturing high quality components in a time & quality fitting with the company standards.
***Key Responsibilities
- Set up tools and load materials onto CNC machines.
- Operate various types of CNC machinery.
- Perform machining of components according to engineering drawings.
- Inspect tools & parts, ensuring all machined parts meet company specifications.
- Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Adhere to lean theory principles and practice 5S principles.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team with mínimal supervision.
- Proficiency in operating computer equipment for data management.
- Ability to read & understand engineering drawings /quality plans.
- Competence in using a variety of measuring equipment.
- Methodical approach to work systems with a focus on standards and established procedures.
- Capacity to make informed decisions and implement changes within specified boundaries.
- Effective written & verbal communication abilities.
- Willingness to follow instructions and adapt to changing work demands.
Experience/Knowledge
- Time served engineer or equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in machine programming using Fanuc/Okuma/Mazak CNC controls.
- Prior experience with tight tolerance machining.
- Familiarity with machining metal in various forms (e.g., billet, castings, pressings) is advantageous.
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic and reliability.
- Adaptable to a wide range of tasks and eager to learn new skills.
- Attentive to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Embraces change and strives for continuous improvement.
- Flexible and cooperative, willing to contribute to the team's success.
