Job Description:


The job holder will contribute to the development, optimisation and validation of analytical methods to deliver NML work, in particular in the single cell (SC) analysis area.

They will be required to use advanced instrumental techniques and to employ a variety of sample preparation techniques as required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Independent daytoday planning and delivery of challenging research and development work on the SC analysis area.
  • Liaison with Project Managers, Principal Scientist and research collaborators to ensure that project work is delivered according to agreed specifications for quality, time and budget
  • Publication and dissemination of scientific developments and achievements.
  • Provision of support, when required, with the delivery of work within the nanomaterial characterisation area (e.g. single particle, AF4-ICPMS)

Qualifications:


  • Experience on SC-ICPMS, AF4-ICPMS/spICP-MS and their combination with other platforms/detectors such as light scattering, imaging techniques etc is highly desirable
  • A good track record in delivering complex and challenging research and development projects within timescale & budget
  • Enthusiastic and innovative scientist
  • Selfreliant and selfmotivated team player with good organisational skills
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience in independent writing of publications for peer reviewed scientific journals
  • Analysing and deciding, business awareness, NMS strategy awareness, being creative, seeking and accepting challenges and influencing.
