Role summary
Atkins has an exciting new opportunity available for a Contingent Workforce Recruitment Partner.

Reporting directly to Head of Recruitment for UK and Europe, you will be the main point of contact for the Atkins businesses and have responsibility to develop and maintain the Contingent Workforce operating model.


Managing a team of 4 recruitment advisors this role will be based in our Birmingham office, working 37.5 hours per week.

This role can accommodate for hybrid working, which is central to our culture.

The expectation would be that the CRP would be office based for 2-3 days per week but potentially more in the initial induction period.


Your Purpose:


  • Manage, support and motivate a team of 4 direct reports enabling them to maximise their contribution to business objectives and realise their individual and collective potential.
  • Work collaboratively, sharing information and building supportive, responsive relationships with key business and client stakeholders to deliver talented individuals into a mixture of projects

  • Use Workday in collaboration with our selected Preferred Supplier agencies to manage the way in which we engage with our contingent workforce. This will include conducting internal compliance reviews of our, reporting and reconciling contingent workforce numbers against business unit budgets and headcount forecasts.
  • Work closely with peers in Tax, HR, Finance, Procurement and Recruitment to develop and rollout policies, responses to legislation changes and operational enhancements to be seen as SME within contingent recruitment and providing sound technical knowledge

  • Responsible for reporting and analysing the spend of our preferred suppliers which runs into the multimillions per month, highlighting leakage, supporting agency supplier meetings and taking remedial action when necessary.
  • Proactively manage the Contingent Workforce population through governance, selection and offboarding by developing standardised metrics and reporting routines to assess performance and best practice.
  • Lead the implementation of appropriate Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Key Performance Indicators aligned to supplier performance delivery of contingent workforce.
  • Build a strong relationship with our offshore team and monitor shared contingent worker responsibilities and processes, holding monthly review meetings.
  • Undertake project work as required by the Head of Recruitment and wider HR community

Technical Requirements:


  • Senior work experience in managing a fully centralised internal contingent workforce recruitment model.
  • Previous experience of working as part of an HR/Recruitment leadership team.
  • Skilled in leading ,engaging and coaching a small team of direct reports.
  • Proven track record in leading and delivering value in a successful, commercially focused inhouse contingent recruitment function.
  • Indepth knowledge of regulations and legislation surrounding contingent recruitment, including but not limited to IR35, AWR and GDPR.
  • Demonstrable partnering and consulting experience with HR colleagues, senior business leaders, showing the ability to interact with and support all levels of management.
  • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple diverse groups or projects at varying degrees of development.
