MANGEMENT INFORMATION OFFICER - Paternity Cover

The team


We are looking for a Management Information Officer to join the Management Information & Intelligence team within the Children, Young People and Education (CYPE) Directorate.

We are a high-performing team that plays a key role in the collection and verification of the governments Free Early Education entitlements data, which includes 3&4 year old Universal Entitlement and 30 Hours Free Childcare.

This is a 12-month fixed term post from April 2023 to March 2024 to provide paternity cover.


The role
The post involves the ability to undertake data cleaning on large datasets and processing high volumes of payments.

Strong technical skills including Excel and Access are required to manage complex datasets and find solutions to challenging problems as well as an understanding of legislative and policy requirements in relation to the statutory early years framework and guidance.

The postholder needs to work independently as well as collaboratively, be highly organised and have excellent time management skills. The role requires a degree of multi-tasking and working under pressure during busy times.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to work effectively with customers including within the CYPE directorate, other KCC directorates, Members, Internal and External Boards, its partners and education providers.

This post is hybrid working between home and Invicta House in Maidstone.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position.

The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.

The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
