As a homelessness charity and housing association our aim to provide quality housing to our clients and to end rough sleeping for good is at the heart of what we do.

To achieve our aims, we have a new opportunity for a surveyor to join the team.

You will be joining the Housing Services team at a time of transformation, as we introduce new IT systems to manage our repairs and voids contract and procure new contracts.


This is varied and interesting Surveyor position that offers great mix of working out on site, from home and with the team at our office in Tower Hill to deliver a range of projects.

In the role of Surveyor, you will assist the Repairs and Voids Manager to deliver our responsive repairs and voids contracts and ensure that repairs, voids, damp, and mould cases are managed efficiently, within budget and to the satisfaction of clients ensuring that our property portfolio remains safe, well maintained, and fit for purpose.


Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing line management, supervision and support to 2 Repairs and Voids Inspectors, using your expert knowledge to develop their skills and abilities.
  • Ensure that we provide an excellent service for clients and colleagues including consulting them on the service received and addressing any issues.
  • Undertaking property inspections to survey properties, diagnose repairs and ensure quality of workmanship and materials for works completed by our contractors.
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including contract management of suppliers.

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own time and workload while overseeing the work of others.
  • The willingness to develop line management skills and provide supervision to staff.
  • Experience of following maintenance related procedures and keeping effective records using a range of IT systems.
  • Ability to maintain effective monitoring procedures and controls to ensure the effective use of financial resources.
  • An up to date knowledge of health and safety legislation and procedures and putting these into practice.
  • Travel to various location is essential in this role, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required, mileage is reimbursed.
