OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:


To make a significant contribution to the support of learners across the Mathematics provision as a Workshop and intervention specialist in English.


Bishop Burton College includes the Riseholme College campus, the post holder will be required to carry out support duties at the designated campus at Bishop Burton College as part of the role.

The post holder will be required to support the referred learners aged 16-19 in the Maths skills needed to support them in making progress in their Edexcel Functional Skills and GCSE Mathematics Eduqas specification.

The list does not represent either priorities or frequency of tasks and should be regularly updated by the post holder in consultation with and agreement of their line manager.


MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • To make a significant contribution to teaching, learning and assessment across a range of curriculum areas as a Workshop and Intervention Specialist in Mathematics.
  • To develop crosscollege support and intervention of GCSE and Functional Mathematics across a range of curriculum areas.
  • To provide regular assessment, progress reporting for learners that are referred using provided system to record the impact of the support.
  • To assure the quality of the learner learning experience by effective delivery of scheduled support sessions paying due regard to student progression towards successful completion.
  • To record in an accurate and timely manner data and information, including student progress and evaluative feedback/assessment improvement.
  • Manage and maintain student morale and motivation in the support session.
  • Contribute a sensitive and supportive approach to equality and diversity in liaison with the HOD, undertake other duties as required.
  • To feed back to line manager the impact of support given and progress made.

A good honors degree or equivalent (2:2 or higher) -
