    OBM are currently recruiting for a Workshop Maintenance Technician for our oil and gas service provider client based in Aberdeen on a permanent basis.

    Reporting to the NORM Operations team leader this role will involve the safe dismantling and downsizing of equipment from across the oil & gas industry. The purpose of this, is so these items can then be cleaned and safely recycled. This role will also be responsible for the maintenance of the UHP jetting equipment, pumps and any other equipment on site.
    Role & Responsibilities:

    • Forklift operations: loading, unloading and transferring equipment, as set out in legislative and Company policy.
    • Stripping down and size reduction duties, including valves and other oil and gas equipment.
    • Maintaining an accurate, auditable record of activities, both documented and computerised.
    • Ensuring equipment is always maintained to be fully functional and safe to operate, to be utilised as appropriate to the task and in line with operating and HSE standards.
    • Maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping at all times within operating areas.
    • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships throughout the business, promoting a positive image of the Company through first class service delivery and Customer engagement.
    • Participating in the continuous improvement of customer service, processes and cost effectiveness.
    • Continuously promoting a pro-active HSSEQ culture, ensuring participation and compliance.
    • Proactively assisting colleagues and undertaking ad hoc duties as required, including unloading equipment from containers, conducting preventative maintenance, daily equipment checks, etc.

    Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:

    • Maintains positive work relationships.
    • Positive attitude to health and safety.
    • Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve.
    • Must be able to work individually and as part of a team.
    • Competence in all Microsoft applications..
    • Abrasive wheels.
    • HAVS Training.
    • Hot cutting .
    • NORM Awareness .
    • HNC/D Mechanical/Engineering or equivalent e.g. EAL, C&G, ECITB.
    • Counterbalance Forklift

    Desirable Qualifications & Competencies

    • High Pressure Water Jetting .
    • Confined Space Entry.
    • Working at height.
    • Knowledge of Christmas trees, valves and pumps.
    • Previous experience in a mechanical/engineering background.
