    ABOUT US:



    Aqua Gas Manufacturing Limited is part of the AVK Group, who are market leaders in the design, manufacture and supply of valves, pipe fittings, hydrants and flow control equipment to the Water, Waste Water, Oil and Gas industries throughout the world.

    Aqua-Gas Manufacturing is the renowned innovative manufacturer of BS 750 Fire hydrants and resilient seated gate valves for the UK, since 1979.

    Finished products are stocked at our National Distribution Centre giving the advantage of next day delivery and emergency delivery if required.


    We are looking for someone with an excellent record of controlling Quality, Health & Safety and Environment within a manufacturing business.

    You will be the first point of contact for all product quality issues and concerns.

    The successful QHSE Lead will play a pivotal role in maintaining our Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems with a view to continuously improving all processes and procedures.

    The successful candidate will have the capability and strength of character to ensure QHSE compliance throughout the business, the capability to develop QHSE systems and processes, and will enhance the team's internal and external impact.

    You will champion AVKs strength in Manufacturing and Engineering with a focus on our future resilience and growth.

    ABOUT THE ROLE:



    Provide training in inspection, testing and other QHSE activities, and carry out training evaluation by audit to verify satisfactory competencies

    Assist in investigation of product quality issues, including off-site where necessary, report results and ensure corrective actions are monitored to closure

    Administration of concession requests including detailed reports, description of faults and pictures where applicable

    Administration of the material / product traceability system

    Ensure that up-to-date QHSE documents are issued to work areas

    Ensure that measuring and testing equipment is available, calibrated and fit for purpose

    Inspect components and products at goods-in, during processing and prior to despatch in accordance with Process Control Procedures and Quality Plans to ensure that they conform to specifications

    Carry-out sample inspection and approval

    Produce test certification

    Conduct routine production line surveillance and compliance checks

    Check that H&S and Environmental obligations are being carried-out in line with the Compliance Calendar

    Conduct internal audits of QHSE management systems in accordance with the Internal Audit Plan

    Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and closed within agreed timescales

    Control of nonconforming products – Raise 3Cs & NCRs, agree remedial actions with Operations and/or Suppliers, and monitor corrective actions to closure

    Maintain records of QHSE activity

    Provide performance data and information for management reports

    Support the implementation of Lean management techniques

    ABOUT YOU:



    Experience in a Quality, Health & Safety or Environmental role

    Knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001)

    Health & Safety qualifications (NEBOSH, IOSH) would be an advantage

    Strong communication skills and IT literacy

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    Pragmatic and flexible working ethos

    Willingness to continually learn

    Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels to include senior stakeholders

    Excellent organisation / time management skills
