Key Responsibilities

Oversight

  • Collaborate with the compliance and investment teams to define and develop execution processes that reflect the scheme investment objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Own oversight of all aspects of Best Execution reporting and monitoring to include rigorous challenge as appropriate to the first line
  • Drive continuous improvement and enhancement of policies and procedures, and robust governance processes
  • Understanding of the regulatory landscape within which USSIM and the scheme operates
  • Ability to tailor reporting of oversight activities to different audiences, boards, internal comitees and senior stakeholders as well as colleagues

Managing Resources and Relationships

  • Build relationships with the investment teams to develop a broad and deep understanding of business objectives and deliver solutions with mínimal direction
  • Work in close partnership with the Operations, Compliance, Legal, Business Change and IMS teams to manage dependencies and conflicts between processes. Not afraid to foster debate where appropriate.
  • Be a trusted advisor to senior management and key internal/external stakeholders to communicate strategies and analysis to facilitate decision making.

Delivering Results:


  • Deliver reporting to the Best Execution and Research Review Group and other USSIM committees in a smooth, accurate and timely manner
  • Periodically conduct strategic deep dives into market segments to understand gaps across USSIM's execution arrangements
  • Actively manage the development and delivery of enhanced execution processes over time to become market leading, whilst remaining sensible for the organisation

Technical Competencies, Skills and Experience

  • Strong technical investment knowledge, with excellent understanding of markets, competitive positioning and regulatory environments.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, demonstrating competence in portraying complex content in a clear, concise, and compelling manner in both written papers and oral presentations
  • Execution experience in a market facing environment, ideally as a head of execution or in a senior execution role with a large asset manager or investment bank.
  • Fostering an open environment and productive ongoing dialogue across teams with constructive problemsolving and proactive issue and risk management
  • Strong stakeholder focus and ability to understand the relationships between the business and stakeholders
  • Aptitude to influence key stakeholders and decision makers to drive progress and commit resources to successfully implement and deliver change
  • Highly competent at prioritisation, process organisation, and management of multiple workstreams across teams
