The Company

Having been established in the West Midlands for more than 3 decades, my client manufactures luxury products used in the most important places of the home.

Due to a great looking order book and sustainable future business, they are now looking to strengthen their team with a suitably experienced TIG Welder to join their Willenhall operation.

This is a days role, with an early finish on Fridays.

Please be aware that it is necessary to live within a reasonable commute of the Willenhall site, as we are not looking for those that would need to relocate.

The Role
This is a very varied role and will be an integral part of the business.

The key responsibilities include TIG welding predominantly brass products to customer specifications / drawings, ensuring a clean, visually pleasing weld and a quality finish.

Main duties include:

  • TIG welding brass (mainly), mild, and stainless steel to create the product, or variations of the same. This is not Batch Work.
  • If you have brazing experience this would be a distinct advantage
  • Working with other workshop personnel to ensure components are suitable for TIG welding.
  • Adapting and fitting components on bespoke versions of the products.
  • An ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Carrying out initial quality checks typically visual, but there may be the need to know about micrometres, Vernier's, gauges and similar inspection tools.
  • Helping out colleagues with any handson assistance.

This is an important role for the shop floor and other divisions in the business, so great interpersonal skills and the ability to get on with a diverse workforce is key to making it a success.

The Ideal Person
This is obviously an important role within an established and successful brand, as such there are certain needs to be met in order to be considered:

  • An experienced TIG welder with exposure to manufacturing
  • Experience of TIG welding brass, mild and stainless steel brass is the most important.
  • If you have experience of brazing this would be a distinct advantage
  • Relevant qualifications to your craft, such as training within Health & Safety.
  • Must be within a reasonable commute of the Willenhall operation. (Prerequisite).
  • Proven experience of creating clean and visually pleasing welds.
  • A "People Person" who is compassionate and has the ability to work within a varied and diverse workforce.

The Rewards
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected and friendly company, and as such the rewards include:

  • Good base hourly rate based on experience.
  • Monday to Friday role with paid overtime available (exceptional earnings available).
  • Company pension.
  • Paid holiday allowance.
  • Other good benefits expected from an established, and successful company.
